Rotor LIVE 2026 is getting closer!
Last Year (2025)
I had an amazing time at Rotor LIVE in 2025. I drove the van over from the UK, took the ferry to Hoek van Holland, and then drove up to Iffezheim. This allowed me the opportunity bring the helicopters and to stop along the way and fly with some of my friends in the Netherlands. I slept in the van at free camping spots and bought food at supermarkets to save money.
In Iffezheim I actually slept near a flying field, so I met some of locals and did a bit of RC with them when not at the event.
I also recorded most of the competition flights, which you can find on my YouTube channel, made a little preview video, and generally had a really good time. I stopped on the way back for some more flying with new friends.
This Year (2026)
This year I’ve decided to do it differently.
Flights
There is a direct flight from the UK to Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden Airport. This will put me about 15 minutes drive from Iffezheim. There is a bus that will take me from the airport to Iffezheim.
Airbnb
There are quite a few hotels in the area, but I found a cheap Airbnb within walking distance of the race track. It’s also quite close to a supermarket, which will make it easy to pick up some food on the way in and out of the event. They even have a pool, although it’s pretty darn cold in March.
It includes Wi-Fi and I’ll be taking a laptop, so if I can get any decent footage and editing, I’ll upload what I can to my channel and Facebook page.
Return
We get back quite late on Sunday night. Fortunately I have the day off work on Monday, so maybe some more editing and publishing anything I missed.
Here are some videos from last year’s event.
